I love science fiction shows. I’m such a nerd. I love to listen when ships go shooting across outer space on the TV screen. I like to see if the show’s creators at least attempted some amount of scientific fact. So far, very few shows do it right.
There’s no sound in space, you know.
Space is hard vacuum, and in order for sound to travel, you need air molecules. Without air, there’s no way you could hear the noise of a spaceship’s engine, whether it’s running or exploding.
Amy, stop being a nerd and get to the point, right?
For many years, I believe my choices only affected me personally. I thought I lived in a vacuum, and it took me a while to learn that’s just not true.
