Have you ever had a conversation with someone that helped you remember things about yourself that you’d forgotten? Several months ago, I got to visit some friends down in Texas. We met for breakfast and talked for hours.
Whenever I hang out with people from Texas, I always remember things from my childhood there. The way we talked, the streets we drove, the sweltering heat, and the kinds of food we ate. But many of those memories don’t surface until I’m spending time with other people who remember them too.
And I think that’s part of how worship works.
