At the beginning of the week, I shared about a time in my life when I left a job that was profitable but not healthy. So … did I leave that job when it became a challenge? Did I walk away because I was struggling with the workload and the office politics?
No. I left when it became obvious that my refusal to leave was a spiritual matter, not necessarily because I felt uncomfortable.
There’s a tricky balance in how we make decisions while we live in this broken world. We should never overlook abuse and mistreatment when it exists, but we also shouldn’t expect that life will be perfect, because that’s a lie.
Sometimes God calls us to stay where we are, even if the situation is less than ideal.
