I didn’t grow up in the 60s or 70s, so I missed all of the struggle and the conflict of the Civil Rights Movement. But it’s the first example I think about when I consider the concept of valuing God’s law above man’s law.
The segregated laws in affect during that time were wrong. Similar to the fact that women weren’t allowed to vote in national elections. It was wrong.
Human government may derive its authority from God, but that doesn’t mean every law government puts in place is godly.
When we are faced with the choice to obey or disobey a law of man that is wrong according to God, what should we do?
