When God answers us
August 15 - August 19, 2022 | Always Peachy Devotionals | Expectations Week 3
Hello, friends!
Happy Sunday! I hope your weekend has been restful and calm, and if it hasn’t been, I hope you’re able to take a few moments to breathe and remember that God has everything under control.
Question: What are you expecting God to do for you today? He wants us to expect things from Him after all. It’s not us being needy or entitled to make our requests known to Him. He’s invited us to ask! So ask!
Do you need help with your family? Do you need help with your job? Maybe your finances are in trouble, or maybe you’ve got a health need. Nothing is too big (or too small) for our great God.
So far in this study/conversation, we’ve focused mostly on why our expectations matter and what we should (or shouldn’t) expect from God. Pretty basic stuff, right? Well, this week we’re going to get into some of the nitty gritty stuff. It’s all well and good when we’re talking about God answering us in theory, but what do we do when God really does respond? What if His answer is yes? Or no? Or wait?
August 15 - Realized expectations
August 16 - Delayed expectations
August 17 - Unrealized expectations
August 18 - Unfounded expectations
August 19 - Beyond expectations
I’m excited about this week, you guys. It was a huge encouragement to me just writing them, and I pray that it will be helpful for you as well.
For our memory verse this week, we’re going with Psalm 5:3.
This is just a really powerful reminder, not only to bring our requests to God every day but to wait expectantly for God to answer. Because He will always answer. It may not be the answer we want, but it will be the answer that’s best for us.
I hope you all are keeping cool and staying hydrated in this wild heat. Keep your ears and eyes peeled for God to do something amazing in your life this week. He wants to. But He may be waiting for you to let Him.
Praying for all of you!
Amy
