Welcome to 2022!
Isn’t it interesting how time passes? In some ways, I still feel like we are just beginning 2020, but in other ways I feel like it should be 2025! (Thank God it’s not, right?)
I am so grateful that no matter how slowly or how quickly life goes, God never abandons us or leaves us to face our troubles alone. He never stops working on us, with us, or through us, and that’s pretty awesome.
One of the primary spiritual struggles in my life is my attitude. I’m really good at the whole stiff upper lip thing. I can put my head down and work effectively no matter what situation I’m in. I conceal my emotions very well—at least, I do until I can’t. And then, when I don’t have room on the shelf of my soul for one more drop of emotional turmoil, I explode.
The Lord has really been convicting me about my attitude for a long while, so it’s something I started studying several months ago. And what I’ve discovered is that usually when I’m struggling with something, I’m not the only one who is.
So for the month of January, we’ll be studying what it means to have a godly attitude. It’s easy to say that I want to have an attitude like Jesus did, but it’s so much harder to integrate that desire into my life. Frankly, without God’s help, it’s impossible. So it’s a good thing He’s here to help us.
Like last month, we’ll have memory verses every week. This month, however, you may recognize that they’re all part of one passage: The Beattitudes. I thought it was fitting.
So, grab this month’s Scripture List. Prepare your heart to hear from the Lord. Remember to pray for each other, and know that I’m praying for you too.
Happy New Year, my friends!!
