Growing up on a small farm, I got the chance to trim a lot of trees. I’m not sure why we had so many on our property, but they certainly did get in the way when you were on the riding lawn mower.
Imagine yourself being clotheslined by a mulberry branch at 5 mph and you’ll have some idea of the pain.
Often we’d grab a hacksaw or some kind of hand saw to do the work. I have yet to run a chainsaw. But even as I cut the branches off the tree, I felt a little sad, especially with the mulberry. Because once that branch was cut off, it wouldn’t grow any more fruit.
