Don’t judge a book by its cover.

You’ve heard that before, right? But we do it all the time, and not just with books either.

Shows like America’s Got Talent and other (so-called) reality television thrives on making judgment calls on people just by their physical appearance. Some of the most iconic moments on those shows stemmed from the contestants who looked different than expected yet could perform beautifully.

Is there even a different way to evaluate someone outside of what we can see?
