Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day! For those of you with spouses or significant others, I hope it’s a delightful time of rejoicing in the relationship that God has given you.
For the rest of us… I hope we are thankful and content in our singleness, at least for the time being. Rest assured, if God wants you to marry, He has someone already picked out for you.
For me? Well, I’m pleased as punch to eat my low-carb ice cream and rewatch all four seasons of Cobra Kai in my basement. I’m not even exaggerating.
This obedience theme has been a hard study for me, you guys. I hope it’s been a blessing for all of you. It has been truly challenging for my heart. Obedience is difficult sometimes, even when we understand what God is asking of us. But when we don’t understand His plan, it’s so much harder.
And one thing I’ve I’ve learned is that obedience in my actions is FAR easier than obedience in my thoughts. If it were a challenge to bring my outside choices and decisions into alignment with God’s will, it’s practically impossible to do the same with what happens on the inside.
But it’s the inside that truly matters. It’s the thoughts in your mind and the attitude of your heart that determines the actions in your life. That’s why it’s just as important to align your heart and mind with God’s Word as it is to just do what He says.
This week, we’re going to be looking at what it means to be obedient in our thoughts.
February 14 - Why does your heart matter?
February 15 - Are you locked on target?
February 16 - Your portable Life Coach
February 17 - Is God happy about what you just said?
February 18 - You have everything you need
Also, this week’s memory verse is a great one that will help us know what we should be thinking about, Philippians 4:8.
Thank you all for your continued support and participation. I hope that you are able to hear the Lord speaking to you in your everyday life. Remember, the more time you spend with Him, the easier it will be to learn to recognize His voice.
Praying for you!
