How does faith change you?
October 24 - October 28, 2022 | Always Peachy Devotionals | Walking With Faith Week 4
Happy Last Week of October!
Can you believe we’re here already? How is the weather in your part of the world? Here in Kansas, it’s finally feeling fallish. If you’re someone who likes the chill of autumn, I hope you’re outside enjoying the leaves as they tumble off the trees. If you’re someone who needs more sun and warmer weather, I hope you’re bundled up with a fuzzy blanket and a hot cup of tea!
I hope this study of walking with faith has been useful for you over the last few weeks. Faith is such an important part of following Jesus, but it gets to foggy and hard to understand at times. And it shouldn’t be that way.
I believe Jesus is intensely practical. He makes too much sense all the time to not be, although I also suspect He’s wild and crazy at times as well (it’s possible to be both, you know). So it seemed a shame to shove faith into the corner as a feeling or an emotional response, when it’s absolutely logical and reasonable and rational too.
Once of the best and easiest ways you can identify faith is by taking stock of how your life has changed since you embraced it. Faith changes all of us. It changes everything. And if you’re looking for evidence of faith, that’s a great place to start. So that’s what we’re talking about this week:
Faith gives you purpose
Faith gives you a place to stand
Faith gives you something to stand for
Faith gives you hope
Faith gives you a family
Faith changes us from the inside out. It won’t take long for people in your life to notice the difference. Faith turns us into new people, and that’s not something you can hide from those who knew you before. Faith takes what was broken in you and heals it, makes it whole.
So that’s our memory verse for this week, Matthew 9:22.
This woman in Matthew 9 touched the hem of Jesus garment, believing that’s all she needed to be healed. And it was. She believed Jesus, and she was made whole again. Her entire life changed in an instant.
That’s what Jesus wants to do for you. He wants to bring wholeness and wellness to your life. It may not always look like you expect, but that’s how He works.
May the Lord walk alongside you as we study how faith changes us this week. I’m praying for you.
Amy
