How do you receive love?
November 14 - November 18, 2022 | Always Peachy Devotionals | Walking With Love Week 3
Hello, friends!
Is it winter in your neck of the woods yet? A cold snap came through Kansas this past week, and yowzers! It got really cold really quickly. We’re all wearing sweats and living under blankets now, and it makes me really happy. (Pass the tea, please!)
We’ve been talking a lot about love this month, which may have surprised some folks. Maybe you expected me to talk about gratitude, especially as we approach Thanksgiving. Well, we’ll get to that. Mostly because I forgot that there are five weeks in this month, rather than the four I planned on. So here’s what we’re going to do (shout out to Alicia Bigelow for this great idea):
This week, we’re going to talk about receiving love, which is significantly harder in my experience than showing love. But then next week, since it’s the week of Thanksgiving, we’re going to have a special week on gratitude. But, it’s awesome, because it kind of already fits.
The best way to receive love from someone is to show them gratitude in return, so that’s what I’d like to do next week. If you’re online and around, reading devos, it would be wonderful if you’d share what you’re grateful for in the comments.
And also—here’s a super special surprise:
For Thanksgiving week ONLY, I’m opening all the daily posts to the public. So this is your chance to tell everyone you know and share the emails with everyone, because they’ll have access to the whole email and will be able to share what they’re grateful for too!
That starts NEXT week, so mark it down. Next Sunday, I’ll send another reminder. But for this week, in talking about how to receive love, this is what we’ll be chatting about:
November 14 - Acknowledge what love is worth
November 15 - Believe love is authentic
November 16 - Don’t try to pay for it or earn it
November 17 - Acknowledge that Jesus is the reason you’re worthy
November 18 - Show gratitude
And, because I can, here’s a preview of the FREE WEEK of devos:
November 21 - Be thankful for good things
November 22 - Be thankful for bad things
November 23 - Be thankful for what you have
November 24 - Be thankful for what you don’t have
November 25 - Be thankful for what you will have
This is going to be so much fun, y’all. And, of course, we’re continuing our memorization of verses out of 1 Corinthians 13 this week:
I’m so grateful for Jesus’ love. It makes every day worth living. It makes every battle worth fighting. It makes every dark moment worth worth persevering through. But I’m even more grateful that He empowers me to love others.
And guess what, guys? I love you!!
Amy
