How can I have hope for next year?
December 27 - December 31 | Always Peachy Devotions
When 2020 arrived, everyone was optimistic, and we know how that turned out. So when 2021 came knocking, we all got excited, thinking that there was no way 2021 could be worse than 2020.
So much for that.
Knowing what has happened in 2020 and in 2021, is there hope for the new year?
Well let me answer that question with another question: Are there promises God has made to you that He hasn’t fulfilled yet?
Then, yes. You can have hope for 2022.
Hope is believing that God will keep His promises. It’s a choice we have to make every day, and we back it up by doing what’s right, by loving other people, and be remembering that God is in charge.
But what are some truths from Scripture that will remind us of these things? What is God up to that can help us know that He hasn’t forgotten us?
December 27 - God will sustain you.
December 28 - God makes old things new.
December 29 - God just might return.
December 30 - God knows what He’s doing.
December 31 - God has work for us.
It’s good stuff, right?
This week’s memory verse is a bold rallying cry, calling us all to press forward and remember where our hope should be.
So be strong and courageous, all you who put your hope in the Lord!
I pray that your Christmas was blessed, and now as we face the end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022, let’s all make a daily choice to put our trust in Jesus. He’s the only One Who will never let us down. He’s the only One Who knows what’s coming. It’s not an easy road, following Him, but it’s the only path to peace and wholeness.
Happy New Year!
