A friend I haven’t seen in a few years is likely coming to visit in 2022. This gal is one of my favorite people, and I can’t wait to see her and hug on her and laugh with her. Her health hasn’t been great, though, so we aren’t exactly sure when she’ll be here. But we know she will be.
I check as often as I can to see if anything has changed. I keep my schedule as open as I can during the time I expect her to be here. I have asked in advance to make sure our guest room is open.
Because I know she is coming to visit, I can confidently look forward to the day when she arrives, even if I don’t know what day it will be.
Over and over again, in Scripture, God has promised to save His people. He has promised to do the heavy lifting, and it’s our job to wait in confidence that He will do it.
As for me, I look to the Lord for help. I wait confidently for God to save me, and my God will certainly hear me.
Micah 7:7
As the times get darker and the world grows further and further away from God, those who are paying attention can see us moving closer to the day of Jesus’ return. I swear, it’s only the Lord’s patience that keeps Him away at this point.
But there’s no time left, y’all. Everything that’s supposed to have happened has happened. We’re practically out of prophecies to fulfill. Jesus is coming back, and it could be in 2022. And if that isn’t reason to have hope, I don’t know what else to tell you.
It could be any day. Are you ready? Are you out doing what He has asked us to do? Check your calendar. Read it with new eyes. It could be today that everything changes. Isn’t that worth getting excited about? Isn’t that worth seeing your life and your opportunities through the filter of God’s purpose?
Whether He comes back for us in 2022 or if He simply chooses to intervene in our lives in an unexpected way, He will save us. Maybe it’s time to live like we believe it.
Also… watch this. Feel free to dance. Or cry. Or both. I did.
