Does God want you to help Him like that?
Have you noticed that we like to help people the way we want to help them? It’s much harder to help someone the way they ask to be helped.
Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable. (Hebrews 4:13)
Have you ever folded a basket of laundry that wasn’t clean yet? Have you ever unloaded a dishwasher that hadn’t been washed yet? Have you ever rushed ahead to help someone accomplish something they weren’t ready for you to help them with yet?
I have. Talk about awkward. I made assumptions, and I jumped in feet first without talking to the people I was trying to help. I ended up making more work for them.
We all like to help, don’t we? But have you noticed that we like to help people the way we want to help them? It’s much harder to help someone the way they ask to be helped.
I think this is what we run into with God when it comes to taking Sabbath Days.
