If you’ve ever gone on a long-distance road trip, you know that you can’t make the whole journey in a single day. I mean, you can try. But it’s probably not safe or healthy.
It’s the same way with any long-term project. Building a house. Writing a book. You have to do it one step at a time. You can’t just do it all at once.
The trouble is, taking one step at a time can be discouraging and disheartening because it’s easy to lose track of the progress you’re making. And that makes the work itself even harder because it feels like you aren’t making a difference.
