So you’ve decided you aren’t going to be afraid of conflict. You’ve decided to confront the person who has hurt you. Well done.
But what happens if they won’t acknowledge the problem? What happens if they don’t accept responsibility or (worse) redirect the hurt as something that’s your fault? (This is called gaslighting, by the way.) Or, what happens if they apologize and then turn around and hurt you again in the same way?
Obviously, there are no one-size-fits-all answers here. It will, of course, depend on the situation and the relationship itself.
But Scripture is pretty clear about how to proceed. You call for reinforcements.
