I’m not good with numbers. I’ve probably mentioned that before. My brain is fantastical—not numerical.
So let’s imagine that I—in all my lack of mathematical skill—agree to work on an accounting project for a client. I am a hard worker and a dedicated sort of person, so they can absolutely count on my willingness to do a good job for them. But can I guarantee the quality of my work?
No, not really. Because I can even foul up math when I have a calculator. That’s how mathematically talented I am.
Why on earth would I put myself in that position? Why would I subject myself to a situation where, despite my best intentions, I’m almost guaranteed to fail?
